The Control Strip is a handy little bar that appears at the bottom left edge of the screen, which contains often used control panel settings or access to other programs, such as a virus checker. The standard Apple set of control strips usually consist of display resolution and colour settings, sound volume settings, among others. It's function is for easier loading of regularly used programs, all you do is have this screen pop up and click on one of the icons to load that particular application.
